Meet CEO Chris Bender

Chris Bender sat down during a recent interview to discuss the company.

The business started at the end of WWII, and has expanded its service region and menu of client services through the decades since then. When asked what he was most proud of, Bender responded, “The way we treat our people.  It’s very difficult to keep a balance between the needs of running a company and making a profit, and the needs of our employees.  We live by the philosophy that it ought to be fun to go to work.”

When asked how Bender Group has remained part of the state’s business landscape since 1945, Bender replied, “Our business is very diversified, serving a wide variety of industries and products. It isn’t based on one large account. We’ve been able to grow with our accounts, and some clients that were shipping a single truckload of material annually are now shipping multiple truckloads weekly. We’ve supported and benefitted from their growth in their markets.”

Logistics Technology

Bender Group’s ability to keep pace with ever-changing markets and business practices is based on the company’s use of technology to effectively manage the needs of each Bender client.

When asked about the future, Bender sees a bright future for his company and for the economy. What does Bender see in the years ahead? “Continued growth into new markets and businesses. The success of the international business [sector] is just one example. We have great prospects for opening in national hub cities, and expect to do that this year.”

This is expected to greatly expand the company’s ability to store, transport and deliver materials and finished goods to manufacturers and retail outlets with greater speed and at a cost savings to customers.

The Road to Expansion Requires Careful Preparation

Bender Group, working with Nevada State Bank Relationship Manager, Jon Klaich, has developed a road map for the successful delivery of continued client care, customer service, and business expansion.

Steve Reid, President of Bender Group, stated, “We worked with Jon on two refinance programs and several equipment loans. Jon has always been a pleasure to work with and has helped us access the cash necessary for our growth opportunities. I appreciate working with a regional bank to get to know the management team, and get their input, as well as discussing any issues or improvements.”

Nevada State Bank congratulates the owners of Bender Group, and the dedicated staff that keeps things “moving” forward for the company’s clients.
