There has been much discussion about the pace and source of economic recovery in the Silver State. A number of employment sectors have demonstrated their ability to move beyond the depths of the recessionary lows, including the leisure and hospitality industry. Much of the improvement in this tourism-dependent sector has been driven by sources other than gaming revenues. While travelers to Nevada are spending more on hotel rooms, restaurants, nightclubs and retail shopping, the casino business continues to evolve and shift in response to new market dynamics that have unfolded following the Great Recession.
